Investing in Better Healthcare for Mid-Missouri

Capital Region Medical Foundation connects the generosity of donors with the healthcare needs of our community. Through charitable gifts, sponsorships, memorial donations, and planned giving, the Foundation supports programs and projects that improve the health and well-being of individuals and families throughout Mid-Missouri.

Whether funding advanced medical equipment, supporting cancer patients, investing in educating future healthcare professionals, or helping launch innovative healthcare initiatives, every gift helps strengthen local healthcare and improve lives.

Special Care Nursery

One of the Foundation's most significant current priorities is supporting the development of a Level II Special Care Nursery at MU Health Care's Capital Region Medical Center.

The Special Care Nursery will allow many newborns requiring additional medical support to remain close to home rather than being transferred to facilities in larger cities. By helping provide specialized equipment and resources, donors are helping local families stay together during some of life's most challenging moments.

Your support helps ensure that Mid-Missouri families have access to advanced newborn care right here in our community.

Cancer Patient Support

Cancer treatment can be physically, emotionally, and financially overwhelming. Through donor-supported initiatives, the Foundation helps provide resources that support patients throughout their treatment journey.

Programs supported by the Foundation help address barriers to care, improve patient comfort, and provide assistance that allows individuals to focus on healing. Community fundraising events and donor gifts help ensure that cancer patients receive compassionate support when they need it most.

Healthcare Scholarships

The Foundation is committed to strengthening the future healthcare workforce throughout Mid-Missouri.

Each year, scholarships are awarded to students pursuing careers in healthcare, as well as non-traditional students seeking to advance their education while serving our community. Through the generosity of donors and named scholarship funds, the Foundation helps remove financial barriers and encourage the next generation of healthcare professionals.

In 2026, the Foundation awarded scholarships to 27 students pursuing healthcare careers.

Medical Equipment & Technology

Advances in healthcare depend upon access to modern equipment and technology. Donor support helps fund equipment and capital projects that enhance patient care, improve safety, and support healthcare providers in delivering the highest quality services.

From specialized diagnostic tools to patient care equipment and innovative technology, charitable gifts help ensure local patients have access to exceptional care close to home.

Community Health Initiatives

The Foundation supports programs that promote wellness, prevention, education, and healthier communities. Through partnerships with healthcare providers and community organizations, donor-funded initiatives help improve access to healthcare resources and health education throughout the region.

These programs strengthen the health of our communities today while helping build a healthier future for generations to come.

Greatest Needs Fund

Healthcare needs continually evolve. Gifts made to the Foundation's Greatest Needs Fund provide the flexibility to respond quickly to emerging opportunities, urgent patient care needs, and strategic healthcare priorities.

These unrestricted gifts allow the Foundation to direct resources where they can make the greatest impact, ensuring donor support remains responsive to the changing needs of our community.

Leave a Legacy

Many donors choose to honor a loved one through memorial gifts, establish scholarship funds, support specific healthcare initiatives, or include the Foundation in their estate plans.

Legacy gifts create a lasting impact that benefits patients, families, healthcare professionals, and our community for years to come.
